Passport and Visa

Passports are necessary for all visitors entering Canada, except for U.S. citizens who require at a minimum, photo I.D. and a birth certificate. For nationals of some countries, visas are also required. Your travel agent or the Canadian representative in your country can advise on this. Because the application for a visa can be a lengthy process, we recommend that you start your visa application process as soon as possible.

Letters of Invitation

Individuals requiring letters of invitation to obtain travel visas to present their papers may access and print an Invitation Letter Request Form (PDF). Please fill out a separate form for each person requesting a letter. All letters of invitation will be sent by mail and by PDF e-mail attachment unless a courier account number or credit card number with expiration date is provided with the original request. Please allow ample time for processing requests.

Language

The official language of the Conference is English. No simultaneous interpretation will be provided.

Goods and Services Tax Refunds for Foreign Visitors

Goods and Services Tax (GST) on goods purchased in Canada may be reclaimed by non-Canadian participants upon return to their own country through completion of a form obtained upon departure from Canada.

Insurance and Liability

SHMII-3 and its organizers are not insured to meet any claims arising from any incidents during the Conference. It is the responsibility of delegates and accompanying persons before arriving to be properly and adequately insured for personal injury, sickness, loss of baggage, etc.
