Dr. Douglas Thomson is a Professor in the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering at the University of Manitoba. He received his B.Eng. (E.E.) from the University of Manitoba, his M.Sc. (E.E.) from the University of Manitoba, and his Ph.D. from Stanford University. His research interests are scanning tunneling microscopy and its application to the fabrication and analysis of manometer scale devices; and scanning probe microscopy techniques for microelectronics diagnostics and testing.
