Dr. Khaled Soudki is the Canada Research Chair Professor in Innovative Structural Rehabilitation in the Department of Civil Engineering at the University of Waterloo. He holds degrees from the American University of Beirut, Cornell University and the University of Manitoba. Dr. Soudki’s research and teaching contributions are in the general field of reinforced and prestressed concrete structures, particularly the use of fibre reinforced polymers (FRP) for structural rehabilitation and prestressing. He has published over 150 research papers in leading international journals and other publications on various aspects of reinforced concrete, prestressed concrete and composite materials. He has delivered 25 invited lectures and seminars worldwide. Dr. Soudki is a registered professional engineer (P.Eng.) in the province of Ontario. He is an active member of several professional societies including ACI, ASCE, CSCE and PCI. He is the recipient of scientific awards from the ASCE and PCI. His research work has bridged the gap between theory and practice for the service life extension of civil structures and has been transferred into the use of FRP materials and systems for civil engineering applications.
