Dennis D. Sargent, M.A.Sc., P.Eng., received his B.A.Sc. from the University of B.C. in 1983 and his M.A.Sc. from the University of Victoria in 2005. He is the President of Sargent & Associates Engineering Ltd. with head office in Victoria, B.C., and has more than 30 years of experience in structural engineering, construction and project management.  The past 20 years have seen him act as a designer or project manager on numerous bridge, industrial and commercial projects for both the private and public sectors. His design experience includes conceptual design, analysis, detailed design and engineering during construction for both new construction and rehabilitation of existing construction, including seismic retrofit.  Mr. Sargent's background in welding engineering and construction have also been of benefit in developing practical design and performing in-situ research and quality assurance.
