Mr. Edward Pentland was born and raised in Manitoba and received his early education in St. Vital. He obtained a B.Sc. in Civil Engineering in 1961 at the University of Manitoba. He worked four years for Metro Corp. of Greater Winnipeg in the field of Building Code Interpretation, Enforcement and Code Development. He was associated with Lafarge Construction Materials (Supercrete), where he was active in all areas of concrete, sales and marketing, design, production and plant construction in Winnipeg, Edmonton and Vancouver. Mr. Pentland managed all aspects of the $55 million supply contract for precast beams for the Light Rapid Transit System.

As owner of A.E. Concrete Precast Products Ltd. for the last 11 years, Mr. Pentland has been involved in the design and marketing of new products and new uses for existing products. He is currently Secretary-Treasurer and a Director for the company.
