Dr. Lloyd McGinnis is a Manitoban with a B.Sc. in Civil Engineering from the University of Manitoba and an M.Sc. degree from the Georgia Institute of Technology. In 2000, he was granted an Honourary Degree of Doctor of Science by the University of Manitoba. In 2003 he was appointed an Officer of the Order of Canada. He is a Professional Engineer with experience from the Arctic to the tropics, and has developed a global reputation for his engineering accomplishments. For three years he served in Tanzania, East Africa, as an advisor to the government, and thereafter spent 25 years directing engineering projects throughout Africa and Asia. For many years he was Chief Executive Officer and Chairman of Wardrop Engineering.
Dr. McGinnis
has received numerous honours and awards, including:

Citizen Award by the United Nations

prestigious “Gold Medal Award” as Canada’s Outstanding Engineer by
CCPE
- Honourary
Doctorate Degree in Science from the University of Manitoba
- First
recipient of an Honourary Diploma award, granted by Red River
College

Curry Chancellor’s Award by the University of Manitoba
- The Julian C.
Smith Memorial Award by the Engineering Institute of Canada
- Sustainable
Development Award of Excellence for the Province of Manitoba
