Dr. Vivek Bindiganavile is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering, University of Alberta, Edmonton, Alberta, Canada. Previously, he was a member of the technical staff at the Research and Technology Centre of the United State Gypsum Corporation, in Libertyville, Illinois, USA. He was also a Postdoctoral Research Fellow affiliated with ISIS Canada at the University of Manitoba, and a Postdoctoral Research Fellow in the Department of Civil Engineering at the University of British Columbia.

His research interests are impact resistance of cement-based composites, fiber reinforced concrete, fiber reinforced polymer (FRP) for retrofitting, and sprayed concrete technology.

He is an Associate Member of the Canadian Society for Civil Engineering and a member of the American Concrete Institute 544 Committee on Fiber Reinforced Concrete.
